Maple Syrup comes from the sugary sap of maple trees and has been known in America since the Indians. Around four-fifths of the world’s supply of maple syrup is produced in Canada. It is made by drilling a hole into the maple tree and collecting the sap that leaks out, after which it is boiled for the water to evaporate and leave the sweet syrup. This is then filtered to make sure it is completely pure.It is versatile and easy to use, popular for sweetening hot drinks, porridge or used in many of our Power Bite recipes.
One of the main reasons Power Bites use Maple Syrup in all our of recipes is it has a lower Glycemic Index than regular sugar, so it’s also a good option for those looking to enjoy a little something sweet without spiking blood sugar levels.
